This has to be one of my favourite pieces of yours. I think it's something in the combination of textures that you used here. Your trademark frenziedness is there in the harsher, sharper lines, and it frames this softer, almost smaller looking textured area (the face itself), that makes the textures contrast, even if the method is the same. I don't know if that makes sense but it really makes the piece stand out to me. I love the contrast between the dark, complex mess of the brain and the light melancholy of the face. There's something slightly beatific about the whole picture that I find fascinating.
